Create a Calming and Bright Space with Spring Colours

Although the temperature is still cold, spring brings with it the feeling of opportunity and new beginnings. It’s time to start those little painting projects and embrace the colours of spring.

Although we are in unusual times navigating our way through lock down, the early days of spring are still the greatest – there’s nothing quite like being woken up by the light through the window with bright crisp mornings, and the daylight seeping into the evenings.

With a little more time on our hands, now is the perfect opportunity for a spring clean and an interior décor tweak or makeover. Spending your weekends at home gives you a chance to explore your creativity, so we’ve put together a few trends and colours that we are loving at the moment.

Get Your Spring Greens

Nothing says spring quite like fresh green tones. As an evergreen perennial, Sage reflects moments of calm and serenity. This shade is perfect for any room that you want to be relaxing in such as your living room or bedroom. Alternatively, for a fresh and sophisticated design why not try a deep green like our Corsican Green that pairs beautifully with a splash of pink – try Old Rose or Plaster Pink.

Playing with Corals

Named Pantone Colour of the Year 2019, Coral is still inspiring us in 2020. Sometimes neutral and calm just doesn’t quite make enough of a statement. Give your walls something to shout about with energising and vibrant coral tones, bringing joy and excitement to your living space. Coral is perfect for the kitchen as the hub of the household, or use it to brighten up your bedroom. We suggest trying a feature wall with Cinnabar or Lulu or incorporate coral shades into your furnishings. Complement these colours with off-white shades with yellow undertones such as Tatton Trellis.

Quick Projects

If you don’t want to commit to large projects or tackling full rooms, there are plenty of bite size painting projects you can do now. Enjoy a splash of colour with a block of colour on the wall above your bed, or liven up an old piece of furniture with a painted headboard in a cool and calming blue such as Stow Blue. Take colour outdoors with our Exterior Eggshell and make your garden table and chairs pop.
